This one hurts. But a super opportunity to acquire a Mercanti autographed back-date from 2011 at a price that's sure to be nice! For your bidding consideration, is a gorgeous looking, back-date Silver Eagle with the signature of John Mercanti in a perfect MS70 by PCGS. "Perfect"? Not so much anymore. There is a spotting issue on the obverse of coin. Although grading services have been known to assign perfect 70 grades, even if the coin being graded has milk spot(s). "A part of the metal" the grading service customer service representatives will say when you call to complain about spotting. It is entirely possible that there were no spots when coin was holdered back in 2011. But through the years, the spots developed. Anyways, there are 3 spots on the obverse of this Eagle. Two around the 2:00 - 3:00 position near the edge. And one on Lady Liberty's gown down one leg. If you can live with 3 spots, this is a great opportunity! And as always...
